Hey Everybody! I just wanted to do a quick post to let ya'll know I'll be back to real posting as soon as I can but it may be a wile yet. Maybe I can just put up some photos until then. I'm hurting a good bit these days, from more than just my back, and it makes sitting for more than a few minutes rather painful. I did have the thought that I could use my laptop and stand up to write my posts though! lol! At any rate, I'm just in a rough spot at the moment but I'm sure I'm not telling ya'll anything new. I hope all of you are doing well and having a productive and fun summer though!
So, that brings me to the real subject at hand. I've been kinda curious since my last posting and all where I was talking about the massive amounts of rain here. Just how is the weather where YOU are? I know it's getting harder to say what is normal anymore but, on average, how are things? Colder? hotter? Flooding or drought? And believe it or not, I do have a reason for asking as I would like to do a related post when I can sit long enough to do some research. But I like to hear form real people too. So, leave me a comment if you are so inclined and I would be immensely grateful. Don't forget to include your location even if I know you.

Here in Fairhope - Coastal Alabama, we are soaking wet! All my tomatoes were just about ruined and completely water logged. I love a rainy day - but this is ridiculous!
Hope you are feeling better soon.
I live in central OK, and we've had more rain than usual this summer with milder temperatures.
The last three summers were some of the worst drought years that have ever happened on the farm. The early '80's were hot and dry, the '50's were worse than last summer, and the '30's were similar to all of the above.
There's some sort of old saying that says, in a decade you're going to have one really good wet year, a handful of slightly wetter years, some slightly dry years, and a couple of horribly dry drought years (or something like that).
Weather runs in cycles, and I'm betting that next year will be a little closer to an average year (or a little hotter and a little drier). And, I'm going to have to survive another drought or two in the next decade.
Here is southeast Iowa, we had five very wet years followed by one of the driest in history. This year started out as the wettest spring in about 30 years and the coolest since records started in the late 1800's. Around the first of July, the tap turned off though it still is cooler this summer than I can ever remember. The cool weather is saving things a bit but we are pretty parched up here and need rain.
I stand and type. You know in the business world, standing work stations are all the rage. Better for the back and pelvis, when you aren't sitting all the time. Have you tried sitting on an exercise ball.
Still may not be comfortable. Hang in there.
Tammy in Lower Al.
Humidity has been high, but the temps have been decent, and we're getting a fair amount of rain, but not too much. (I'm looking at the world through the eyes of a runner nowadays.)

Pain and rain are both overly abundant here in northeast Tennessee. Odd in how the rain comes. One minute blasting heat, sunshine then a literal downpour in split seconds; have had more flooding than ever I recall. Yesterday was a first of 'all sunshine' in many weeks - more rain tomorrow. No doubt about it, this has been an odd-weather year. Sitting here in 55 degrees this UN-normal, chilling August morning - what next! Maybe I better unpack my coats and quilts.
Here in the Houston area (coastal Texas) we have had another dry summer. Not as bad as 2 years ago drought time, but only in the past few days have we gotten any rain to speak of. Not so hot though, like in the past. Only about a week's woth of temp over 100, and then just barely so. In the 70s this morning, with a slow, soaking rain going on right now. All-in-all, not a bad summer for here, but we could still use some more of your rain!
Looking forward to hearing your pain has lessened, and you're back to buildin' and pottin' again.
Hey Everybody! thank you so much for taking the time to comment and tell me about where you are! Sounds to me, so far, that things are just all over the place; not much of a pattern except for maybe cooler than normal.
Tucson, AZ Hot and humid, it is monsoon season but not to much rain has fallen but that is not unusual. Lots of thunder and lightening some high winds. I hate Tucson in the summer.
Hope you feel better soon.
Florida has had some huge thunderstorms and lots of rain. We are tired of the rain, but are vacationing in North Carolina this week and brought it here with us. :0( Sorry you have been feeling so bad and had such a rough summer.
The VA eastern shore has been hit and humid most of the summer with hardly any rain. That changed over the weekend, when the rai. Started and it is set to continue all this week, but gentle rainfall with no gusting winds, lightning or thunder and much cooler temps.
