Honesty Is No Excuse

I suspect I have been a putz on this blog for some time now.  Heck, a putz in real life too, I imagine.  Crabby, griping, bitchy, whining.  Hey, that's why I put that "pissing and moaning" category over there.  Here's Chigger and some funny chicken pictures to make up for it..........  Not enough, eh?....Well, I'll try to do better for the rest of the year.

Seriously,  I have not meant to be a crabby stick in the mud.  Or a muddy crab on a stick.  Either way.  This year just did not start out well.  It sucked and blew chunks both ways basically and it has remained........well......challenging, shall we say.  I hurt every day, all day and like a lot of people it starts to wear on you a little.  I do not mean to take it out on my loyal readers and I know I could have it a hell of a lot worse.

I just wanted to say that despite everything I am still thinking up and working on new or existing projects.  I am not being sucked down the black hole of despair.  I work in the garden every day just about.  I am back to doing at least a little clay every day.  This weekend I have enjoyed every minute of the wonderful weather we have had, staying outside until I just had to come in.  I added a few more feet to my rock flower bed.  I got almost all the winter crops planted.  I take care of my sweet chooks every day and take time to pet those that want to sit in my lap.  Chigger and I have gone for many walks.  She often has to wait up on me but she's patient that way.  I'm still here, I'm still me, the giant pain in the ass you all have known for years.

Y'all gave me such wonderful words and I will get to them all!  Please feel free to continue to leave them too, if you have not already.  I may sprinkle some other posts in between (or not) but will take them all in order.  Thanks for playing along.

Hey Annie, hows it going? Just stopping in to say hi. Sometimes myself seems to disappear totally from the blogger scene for long periods at a time. This is both looking at peoples posts and also putting up new posts of my own. I guess sometimes life just seems to take over at times. Hope you have a real good anniversary road trip when the time comes.

Crabby? I don't feel you are - being honest is real good; that's why I love reading your posts, knowing what is happening with you. Now me...I'm really failing attending to blogging; what's to speak about? I've said (bitched)it all and yes, I have fallen down a hole of despair, especially now that cold weather is setting in, shivering then sweltering midday.

It "reads" to me you are one busy active gal even with all your physical woes. I hang my head in shame lacking motivation.

I love it that you write about both the highs AND lows in life, Annie. And I agree with Sissy: the amount of activity and accomplishment in your life is staggering. That you keep it up while dealing with physical stress is even more of a credit to you. --Like you, I have been trying to keep a perspective on good and bad, vis-a-vis most lately all the flooding we have in CO. Sure, I have a little wet carpet and a leak on my sunporch, but some people have lost everything. I am fortunate and thankful for it. Keep on truckin!

Hey Mark! Good to hear from you! things are going well here; hope the same for you. thanks on the road trip! I think we'll have a great time.

Hey Sissy! well, sometimes I feel all those same ways..but I'm trying to stay as active as I can. I'll hope for a big ray of sunshine to come your way soon.

Hey Pam! Oh, I 'm so glad to hear the flooding has not affected you terribly and you are safe! I hope all my readers from CO are.
Thanks for your kind words; I'm trying for sure.

Hey Jo! yeah, I know we do and everybody deserves a day every so often. I just didn't want to make a habit of it!

It would be hard to be down too long with a face like Chigger's. She has the sweetest face and dogs are marvelous, in seeing you through the pain, in your heart and lifting spirits. Chickens are funny. I have a friend that has gotten back into chickens. Self proclaimed Chicken addiction.
Peaks and valleys, life is like that. Some days, words never leave my lips, one feels as if there is nothing to say, it has been said. Then comes a barrage of words....guess that is what writing is.

I don't think you are crabby. I chose honesty over pretending any day. I've been thinking of you. We are headed to Rainbow River next week for a few days. Hard to believe its almost been a year since we met you at that awful loud place for dinner. I am still embarrassed about that!

Hi Annie,
You feel different about yourself than I think of your blog. I am interested in your health and what you are doing. Especially, when I can tell you are not feeling well I want to know that you are ok just feel like crap for now. I have that life too so.... I get neat ideas from you and happy to hear about a road trip coming up. You can share about it. We have no one to watch our animals so I guess it will be day trips for us. Have a great day! Your a better person than you give yourself credit for. As this adjustment period passes you'll feel better. You'll learn what works and what doesn't. We have a shopping list and it's Saturday so off we go.

Hey Anon! Yes, Chigger and the chickens are my cheering section! Always pick me up when I'm feeling down. Good analogy of writing; i feel that same way often.

Hey IR! Oh, don't worry about that restaurant! lol! we were just glad to get to visit with ya'll for a while.

Hey Reet! well, you make a good point; it's impossible for me to see my blog the way ya'll see it. I would love to be able to though. Thanks! your comments often make me feel a lot better about things.

Cheers, sweetie.

Don't be afraid to take pics of the stuff coming out of the kiln and share those with us. The little things that make up anybody's life are unique! That's what makes it all interesting!
