There's A House In The Forest

Just thought I'd share a few photos of the snow we had back in December, before Christmas actually.  It's kinda rare for us to have much snow before January but not unheard of.

It was a fun, pretty snow and didn't hang around for a very long time, so that was good.

I am trying to get back into the habit of posting and hope to have many new things to share with ya'll soon!

Take care and stay warm!!

Winter wonderland. So cozy and pristine. I made pumpkin butter today. Froze it in 4 oz tubs to enjoy later. :) erinfromiowa

My favorites are the creek surrounded by snow covered branches and the one with the trees backlit by the sun against the blue sky.

What a weird year after two prior weird years. I just heard yesterday that we haven't had a three inch snowstorm in almost three years! We've only had about 5 inches of snow in two storms this year which is an inch less than we received all of last year. Global warming is a certainty in my eyes.

Lovely icy pics. Annie. Down here in Houston, the snow/ice is still on the ground in some shady places more than 72 hours after the initial fall - unheard of in my lifetime. Supposed to be into the 70s by Sunday. Sheesh!
Good to hear from you - great photos.

Hey Linda! thank you!

Hey Erin! So good to hear from you! the pumpkin butter sounds delish.

Hey Ed! wow! that is weird. Yeah, there is certainly something going on with the climate. It's like a lot of it has shifted south. we are getting a lot of cold and snow (I mean, for us it's a lot) and many northern places not so much.

Hey Sis! thank you! Wow! how weird also! we are warming up too and I am SO happy!! good to hear from you also.

Pretty shots. Did you get snow again this past week? We even had snow on the coast line. Really weird down here in LA.

So very pretty.

Hey Anon! we got just a very light dusting this past week. I had read that every county in Alabama did get some snow, even in Mobile, so I guess that was a weird thing for ya'll!

Hey Jo! thanks!

Hello Annie! Beautiful snow-Chigger pics. And so glad to see you posting again.

Was sad to read about Jack's treatment of you. But: I'm a person who has known since high school that I never wanted to be married. I'm 62 now, and live one hour from my significant other. We lived together for a few years and it was just hell. Now we have our two separate abodes and get together on weekends, take trips, he helps me when I need it and vice versa. I'm not exaggerating when I call it pure heaven. In fact, I advise all my female friends, including my sister who's contemplating divorce, to think about this solution - even though that, yes, society will call you an uppity, liberal woman. (I had one old friend say "still too proud to get married?")

Yeah, that's the ticket. Pride. And self-preservation :-)

I'm not saying that is a solution for you and Jack now...sometimes too much shit goes down. S and I went through a time where I never wanted to see his ugly mug, and yes there were mental health issues. And some dipping into other streams, on both sides. But in the end we came back together, just not under one roof. We are both in each other's wills. We have someone to count on without "ownership". Works for us.

Sorry if I am overstepping...this probably should have been a private email. Please remove if you are so inclined!

Glad to see you back online. Spring will be here soon!

Hey Pam! great to hear from you. No, I don't think you are over-stepping. Heck, you know we talk about all kinds of stuffs here! lol! I don't think though, that would ever work for me and Jack. As I mentioned, the real reasons for our divorce went way beyond the few things I mentioned. Way.waaaayy. I am somewhat fearful of him and the disturbing things he participates in and were hiding so well from me, are things I don't want anywhere/anyhow associated with me.

Yes, Spring will be here soon and I can't wait!!
