Hello Again!

Well, we are back from our little vacation...sigh... It was a working holiday anyway; I had to fufill my end of a barter deal I made for my house so we really worked about the whole time. Not a bad place to have to work though. We were in the Panama City area of Florida. Beautiful beaches but it was still a little cool.
We got about 3 hours to play around on the beach. We found some cool seashells. Ate a lot of really good seafood.

These little birds were fun. They were in a little fresh water stream flowing down to the ocean. They were really enjoying taking a bath.
I hope to have more up about the house soon. They are having us work 10's at work so I'm pooped when I get home but I hope to post again soon.

What kind of bird is that with the blue bill and the red and blue plumage. Quite attractive, and pretty rare, I'll bet.

We haven't been to the coast in... forever.

Your birds are Ruddy Turnstones, by the way. (Not the one Pablo is talking about. The other ones. :)

Have you been to the new Piggly Wiggly? I like the store but they are kind of $$.

Hey Pablo! Well, from the photo it looks like a Big-Breasted Whale bird to me. Need to lose about 15 more pounds. And yes, it's a one-of-a-kind, as far as I know. You are a sweetie though.

Hey Karen! It has probably been 6 or 7 years since I had been to the coast. Yeah, we checked out the new Pig! Big excitement for this town! ;) I was suprised by the amount of organic food that they had but alas, they did not have my organic, soymilk creamer, so pooh on them. I didn't really notice the prices and was not impressed enought to dicontinue shopping at Publix. That (Publix) is what I wish would move in here.

Ya'll need to come back in a few weeks to enjoy a bi-annual event down here...lovebugs! Glad to see you made it back okay. Are ya'll still looking at a hydraulic ram pump for water? You'll need several feet of water fall to make it work. I've messed around with one and it works but you have to keep trash out of the valves or you'll lose your water. Looks like I've either got to drill a well or build a cistern since my place is on a hill and water pressure too low to hook up to the county. I could just tote water like when I was a kid but I promised my wife all the luxuries(indoor plumbing) if she LET me build it. I'm coming up next week to work a few days..may try to get in touch if time permits(got to get finished you know). Keep on blogging.

6 or 7 years!?

I would dry up and blow away. I love that area of FL, lots of college memories of the panhandle.

Hey Anon! I think Allen has given up on the ram; just too much trouble and maintenance. He did build a siphon which worked great but it would eventually suck in enough air to cause it to stop. I'll just stick with a pump. Good luck on your place; hope you get lots done on it this week.

Hey FC! I know! 7 years; isn't that awful!? When my oldest brother lived in Mobile, I used to go down to the coast several times a year but I hardly ever go now. I like the sea but I'm an old Taurus the Bull and like my feet buried up in the dirt.
