On Christmas Day

Merry Christmas!  Happy Holidays! or Joyeux Noel!!  to everyone!  I hope you have all are having an enjoyable holiday season whatever your practices or beliefs.  I finally had time this year to actually make a wreath!  From greens I gathered about my land, of course.  Hehe!  I have always enjoyed the practice of decorating with evergreens and whatever grows around the area.  Even the chicken coop got a wreath!  I'll have to try to get a photo of that.

Today has been a very quite, laid back day for me and Jack.  We visited with family yesterday and decided to spent today at home.  We don't do a lot of gifts but did get each other a couple of things.  I got him, at his request, a Kindle.  I don't really see the allure of those things but he seems to be getting a big kick out of it.  I got a Le Creuset brasier (5 qt. I think)!  I am stoked!!  I got my range hooked up and now have to decide on what appropriate dish to cook in it!
I'm cooking a nice dinner for tonight and then we'll watch It's A Wonderful Life.  I wish you all peace and happiness and much love.

I don't know if I'm concerned you are laid off or happier to read your more frequent blog entries. Merry Christmas. I've been having probs with my blog. If you were going to enter a haiku. the topic is sweet and the post is right below my Christmas pics or if you hit older posts it will pop up. It's Christmas night here and I feel like a roadie for the trans Siberian orchestra. I'll be so glad when I have everything put away and cleaned up.
Picoler Et Les Haricots is a new entry on my blog about cooking. If you need cooking tips that is.

Happy holidays to ya! Everything around your place looks so nice...and that window is a real keeper!

ahhh, yes, the window is beautiful...and I see a hulking snowman through it waiting for a lovely something to appear in your new casserole. I meant to say how much I like your tree the other day but didn't follow through. I have taken to tufting the cedars around here so we have some interesting shapes when/if it ever snows---it may be something to consider for next year's tree, they bulk up a bit in one year, even more in two---solstice was fun here, mowed a low path in the yard, meandering and then spiralling in to the center, observe a moment and spiral out and back to bed, happened at 12:30 am, much to the mate's horror. Have a peaceful and happy 2012.

And why not a wreath on the chicken coop? People put wreaths on the front grills of their pick-up trucks around here!

Hey Page! Oh yeah, considering the success of this years tree, I was thinking that I should pick out several more likely candidates and clear out around them etc. to prepare them for years to come. You're right, they can fill out nice in about a years time.
I was reading on Tim's site about the mowing bit! If i had done that I think Jack would have been sure I'd lost what's left of my mind! Although he does go along with my other traditions pretty well...lol!

Hey Caroline! you know, that's true, I hadn't thought of that..! lol! I even saw reindeer antlers on one car here!
