Crap! this is the most dreary, gloomy, miserably cold, suckin', wretched day I've seen in a while. I really don't care for cold weather in case you're wondering. And yes, I know it doesn't get as cold here as it does in other regions but the cold here is wet and sloppy and seems it just penetrates right to your soul. I am so happy I'm not having to work in this stuff right now (I've done enough years of that) but my time is drawing short and I will probably get in on some mud-sloppin' cold construction site days this year .
Today is just one of those days best spent creating friction with a loving partner and a warm fire burning. I'll have to settle with the splitting maul keeping me warm. Bleh. Not near as much fun.
I was making such good progress on the house but since this rain has settled in I haven't gotten any further than what I showed ya'll in that last post. Maybe it will clear up tomorrow.
Well, keep warm and think happy thoughts of spring!

It is a good day to stroke the cat, pat the dog, drink some hot chocolate and read a book.
Be glad you are not in a mid-Atlantic state where they are getting up to a foot of snow" the wet, heavy stuff not the fluffy stuff we get with colder temperatures.
Hey Philip! ah, hot chocolate! now, that's a good idea!
Actually, snow would be better than this in my opinion. At least it's pretty and lifts your mood, unlike MUD that just kinda poops on you.
Looks like your weather is a lot like ours here, although we did get some sun today! Almost didn't recognize it!
I am SO ready for Sriung!
Gosh, I have been a Creedence fan since I was about 14 and I can't place Gloomy.
Must go Google!!
Beautiful here today, but yesterday was grey and rainy!
Friction ... heehee
It was even spitting icy rain yesterday. Your yard looks like mine, with all this rain! Down the front porch steps there's a mudhole. So discouraging... But spring is close by! Fingers crossed!
Hey Jim! I hear ya! I'm extremely anxious for spring to get here too.
Hey FC! yeah, i was not familiar with that song either.
heehee, that was my attempt at subtlety.
Hey Attila! yeah, it has been sleeting here for a couple of days.
In my opinion, there is nothing worse than working in the mud.
yes! the mud is holding me up. still working on that shed! however, i needed an art studio even more. so i am building (not me -some guys) a 12x16 with a gable roof. i did find good windows at habitat for humanity ..next i need to figure out the outside. like, what to do? maybe lapsiding like my chicken coop. old barnwood is not viable. board and batten? i dont know. i think plank floors inside.
i love your new title imagery. like the creek and pottery, and of course the animals!
stay dry! weve got a wet tuesday in store.
Gloomy. What you need is snow to brighten your landscape. We just had a friend visiting from a long ways away. She lives further north than us but due to the vagaries of living near the sea there is no snow. She commented that the whiteness of our landscape makes it seem far brighter. She liked it.
I'll second the hot cocoa and raise you a cookie. :)
ick...hate this fer ya'.
We's sunny, but colder'n I like ,though I reckon thas' cheeky of me to say when ya's got such gllom.
Blowin' some sun yore way!
Wait...weather like this is perfect time fer readin a juicy mystery or a a historical romance. Wif' fire crackin' and soup bubblin' on the stove.
Hey Ed! i would agree with that.
Hey Chickory! yeah, it's hard sometimes to come up with ideas for that stuff. You could do a fake board and batten by applying battens to sheets of plywood. That would be more affordable. Keep in mind you could also use metal roofing for siding, maybe as just an accent if you didn't want to do the whole building. It can sometimes be found very cheap.
Hey Walter! yes! snow would be much happier. But we hardly ever get any. :(
cookie sounds good!
Hey Aunty! it worked! we had quite a bit of sun this afternoon!
That does sound great for this kind of day; reading and a fire with soup. yea!
