High Hopes

This is what I spent so much money on this weekend! I know it's probably not anywhere near what you were imagining either, heh. You know, all these self-help gurus and such always say you have to imagine and prepare for the life you want; go on and proceed through life as if you already have what you want. So, this is a new queen-size, fancy-smancy Serta bed. Natural latex padding from real trees even. Big enough for me and a good size man. Kinda like the 'build the baseball park in the cornfield kinda thing'. You know, build it and they will....okay, there is no way I can complete that sentence without it sounding nasty. Anywhoo, you get the idea! Haha! It's a joke people!! Sorta.
Actually, my back has really been in a bad way lately and I was sorely overdue this bed. The back pain was actually waking me up before my alarm. That's not good. If my back is out of commission then I'm out all together so I just had to bite the bullet and get this while I am still working and can easily afford it. And do you know, that after spending all this money I didn't even get one of those cute little sheep with the number on it's side. I love those things!

I admit I did not hit one lick at putting the siding up this whole weekend. I did go buy what I believe will be enough for me to completely finish though. I worked my butt off in the garden and yard, cleaning up and mowing and weed-eating. Just generally taking care of lots of little maintenance issues. Maybe during the week I can muster the energy to do a little siding work.

*several people have done songs with this title.

Love your nest! The colors and decor are very appealing. What kind of plant is on the nightstand?

Who would have guessed that taking a line out of a movie and changing the context a bit can alter the meaning so significantly.

I'm reminded of days gone by when I could sleep on just about anything. Now, I value what sleep I get so much that I will gladly pay top dollar to get a bed that is just right.

Hey!

So, you're apparently no longer "suspicious"!

The bed looks very comfy.

I'm crazy jealous over the tomatoes : )

And, I love your new blog layout!

Hey Richard! Aww, I bet you could come up with something!! ;) lol!

Hey Erin! thank you! I like the colors and such very much too; it's very soothing. That is a silk orchid, I hate to admit, but on the other side of the bed and in the kitchen I have real, live orchids! Only one is currently blooming.

Hey Melody! thanks!!

Hey Ed! lol!! yep! I used to be that way too; could sleep out in the yard, on the floor, it didn't matter but now...not so much.

Hey Linda! Yay! good to see you back! well, whether I'm still suspicious is probably a matter of opinion!! lol!
thanks!! If ya'll are up this way come get some tomatoes; I have PLENTY!!

Hey Jim! thanks man! yes, it's very comfy and relaxing.

Great looking, nice high bed. It's a beautful room.

Take care of that back ... you need it for work and recreation.

Hey FC! you know, the bad thing is I always find my butt a few days later in the mirror and it seems to have brought more back with it.
Thanks on the room! it is very cozy.
I'm trying on my back I assure you!

Ooh, I love all that red. Did you do the wall hanging? I am curious why you decided on white for the walls. I am really struggling to decide on paint colors and am tempted to go back to white just because it is safe.

Hey IR! well, if you click on the photo and enlarge it I think you may be able to better tell that the walls are not white. They are a medium sage color. I guess with so much sunlight coming in it washes the color out some. :)
Also, a friend and fellow craftperson did the wall hanging. I wish I could sew like that!

Very nicely done - looks relaxing and inviting (use your imagination here). Too bad about not getting one of those cute little sheep - would've made a nice pet!

Back pain is nothing to mess with so if this bed makes you feel better than the $ are more than worth it. And the heck with not getting to that siding over the weekend- relax and rest - you deserve it, Annie!

A chiropractor could probably help with that back too...that and a good massage therapists

Hey Beatrice! yeah, I am very frugal about buying many things but really don't mind paying a good price for a quality product, especially something as important as a good mattress. I need my back to be in good shape!

Hey Anon! I have really seriously been considering seeing a chiropractor. I just need to find one fairly close. I do have a massage therapist here who is very good and she helps a lot.
