Colder Weather

It's funny how that sometimes when it snows the snow sticks on the tree limbs and sometimes it doesn't. I like the way it looks when it outlines the trees.

We only got about 2-3 inches of a very dry and powdery snow. The way it was coming down last night, I thought we might really be in for quite a snowfall this morning but it apparently stopped around midnight. So, no sledding this time.

Well, I've got lots of work to do anyway. I'm going to attempt to fix the concrete countertop I poured in the pantry. See what I can do with that. My pantry flooring also came in so I'll go pick that up tomorrow probably.

They are calling for warm temps this weekend; like around 60 during the day, so I may go on a little hiking foray up to Little River Canyon in northeast Alabama. It is a really beautiful area. I'll be sure to take lots of pics if we go.

Snow usually sticks to trees when the temperatures are close to freezing. When the temperatures are much colder, the snow doesn't stick as much.

Did I miss a post? What happened to your pantry counter top that requires fixing?

Hey Ed! wow, thanks for that info! that does make sense. Last night it was only about 32-34 degrees and the other time it snowed so much it was MUCH colder and the trees were mostly bare of snow.

Hey FC! ha!! we'll it's mostly melted now anyway!

Hey Ed and Pablo! no, Ed, you didn't miss a post but I guess I just didn't say much about it. I know I briefly mentioned in one post that I had some problems with the finishing and the surface did not come out as I had wanted.
What happened is that after the top cured it formed a powdery surface on one end and the mortar was actually coming out, leaving the sand exposed. Not good.
I'll post about it and show ya'll my remedy so far. Still not sure if it worked or not.

Nice shots of the snow, Annie. We also got a little of about the same amount on the VA eastern shore. Pretty enough to get out and shot some photos, then quickly melted by afternoon. Your tree shots were beautiful to look at on an early morning.

Pictures are so pretty, I love to see them but not be there. :)
Hope the counter top fixes for you.

I think we got your storm about an hour after it left you. BUT like Beatrice said, most of it melted by afternoon. No sledding here either. I'm thinking of making a sled with wheels for summer fun.

You must be getting tired of snow this year. We had a couple of inches last night of wet snow that clings to everything. We have had a warm spell. This just adds to several inches on the ground. There is still a month of Winter left here. March 15 the half load restriction for trucks on gravel roads begins. This shuts down logging for two months. It is the true sign of the end of Winter for me.
