Writer's Minor Holiday

After writing that I was going to really put an effort into posting more regularly, I know this is going to sound stupid, but I think I'm going to take a bit of a break from blogging, or maybe just post occasional photos.  I don't know if it's just my normal neurosis or what but there seems to be a very discernible lack of interest these days and unfortunately, this affects my interest in writing sometimes.  I think a lot of people are just really, really busy these days, having health issues or kinda burnt out on social media at the moment.

I am also extremely busy with pottery orders too, so this is an excuse to devote my time to that!  However, if anyone thinks they might like to order any pottery for holiday gifts please contact me as soon as you can and get your order in.  I hope to be caught up by the end of this month and maybe even have an Open House in December but I don't know if I'll manage that or not.

So, I leave you with pictures from my last firing, which came out well I thought.

If I complete any special projects in the house or garden I may post that but it doesn't really look like I'll have much time right now for anything but pots!

Are any of ya'll noticing or participating yourself in a reduction of cyber time?

I understand fully but I'm going to miss you. Second loss of favorite blogs in 3 days. Yes, I'm almost tired of the whole internet itself. I may head to Florida soonly. Know we readers never tire of your posts, Annie. My favorite and first blog!

I certainly understand, my friend. Do what you think is right!

Only so much time in a day!

Don't confuse lack of comments with lack of interest. I find your posts always interesting but don't feel that I can add a lot and thus I don't comment every post.

I've been on blogger for nearly a decade now and seen many blogs come and go. Those that seem to stay the distance are those who write for themselves. Those who write for an audience normally burn out after a period of time and disappear.

I'm always interested in what you write! My failure in consistency is noted both in my delays between reading the blogs I love most (yours is one) and in actually blogging on my own blog (as you can tell by its weird changes of subject and lapses of utter neglect). By the way, every time you post a picture of your pottery, I can't stop drooling...love love love it!

I must confess I'm finding myself withdrawing more than a little from my online life. Maybe it's all the running I've been doing.

Annie, I also read you first in the a.m.! I started a new job (working at home, yay) so have probably spent a little less time online. But by all means take a break, we will be here waiting for you when you get back!

The pottery colors are really gorgeous.

I'm with Ed on the comments or lack of them part. I check into your blog every morning. Don't go away completely. I enjoy your straight forward way you present things, so keep telling it like it is.

I too have been cutting down on my blog posting. After about 5 months with minimum posts, I just can't get back to the way I was doing it before, so I'm down to 2-3 a week.

Hope you will continue to post as time allows, Annie, because I also enjoy your posts even if I fail to comment from time to time. I agree that withdrawing from on-life life seems to be happening. While we enjoy posting to our blog, it does get difficult to maintain a daily pace as we are also involved in other things that have nothing to do with being online. I agree with Ed's comment that writing for yourself is more important than seeking an audience. It always amazes me how some bloggers can have such a large audience and makes me wonder how much of their day is spent online.

Whoops, forgot to add that the pottery looks great. We hope you will still be in the business when we finally sell our VA home and relocate to New England. We will be needing new mugs and other pieces then.

I hope you keep those posts coming. There has definitely been a malaise that has hit the self sufficient type blogs after the last election. Many of us are so dis-heartened and dismayed at the direction this country (and world) is headed that we just had to step back and take a breather. I myself have taken to a lot of intro-spective type thought to question myself, just how prepared am I for the future. I have been doing a lot of "what if" situations in my mind. I'm still sorting my thoughs out for myself, then I might share them with others. That is basically the way men analyze problems anytime, but especially now in times like these.
